February is almost over...

Wow, I can't believe that February is almost over!  Life is flying by so quickly, I can't believe that school is almost over.  Only a little over 2 months left.

To get caught up with lacrosse...we haven't won a game yet, but we haven't lost by more than 19 yet either (and we don't plan on it).  School is going well.  I have only have class Monday-Wednesday, however, it still seems like I don't have any spare time.  When I am not at a lacrosse event or at class, I am at work, and when I am not at work, I am at home trying to catch up on everything else in life.  Life is busy, but hey, it makes the time go by fast and I enjoy it for the most part.

New things in life:

-My friends are all getting married (well, not all of them, but a lot of them) and one of them is having a baby soon.
-I turned 22 and I feel old (weird...) I didn't think it would happen to me, but I do feel older.
-I went on my first airplane ride to Colorado for a game, and I refused to sleep because I wanted to look out the window so badly.  :)  It was fun!
-I started taking "clients" in my class.  The "clients" are people in my class, however, none-the-less, I still have to try to be a therapist.  It's a challenge.  Listening is harder than it seems.

Berkeley Weekend!

This past weekend, my team traveled to Cal Berkeley for a day full of scrimmages.  We played 4 scrimmages total; UC Davis, UC Santa Barbara, Cal, and Stanford.  Considering that 2/4 teams are ranked among the top 20 teams in the nation, I'd say that our team did pretty well.  No, we didn't win any games, however we almost beat UCSB, but they scored in the last minute of the game to win (kinda like our Superbowl this year).  I, personally, did alright.  Made a couple of good plays, however, I played attacker, and the ball didn't come to my end of the field very often.  But overall, our team did great.  Especially for never, EVER playing a game against someone other than ourselves up until now.

Our next game is our first game of the season, as well as our first home game.  It is verse Cal Berkeley held in the Bulldog Stadium (football stadium) at 1pm on Sat., Feb. 7th.  I hope to see many of you there!

Three Practices A Day!

Since Monday night, our team has been practicing three times a day, everyday.  We are currently on day 6 out of 8.  The first few days were EXTREMELY difficult for everyone on our team.  I think almost everyone has some sort of serious pain in at least one part of their body, but we are working with the athletic trainers to get better.  No serious, serious injuries, just pain.  Anyways, the practices have been going well.  We are learning a lot, and at a very fast pace, but we are doing well.  Our first game is in 15 days (Feb. 1st).  It's crazy to think that only 4 months ago, 16 of us had never even touched a lacrosse stick, yet alone knew what to call the sticks, and now we are scrimmaging almost every practice.  I'm very excited and cannot wait to get into the heart of the season.

School starts on the 23rd of this month.  I don't really know what to expect at all, but I guess I will just need to be patient and take it one day at a time.  That has been my motto lately; one day at a time, one step at a time.  Trust God and everything that He has planned and on His schedule, not mine.  It is only because of Him that I have accomplished everything that I have done and it is by His strength that I have almost survived the first ever lacrosse three-a-days without dreading every minute of it.

Update

This blog is simply to help everyone get up-to-date on what has been occurring in my life the past few months.
The first thing that I think you should know and probably the biggest change in my life has been that I joined the Fresno State Women's lacrosse team.  If you don't believe me check out gobulldogs.com and go to the lacrosse section, there you will find all of the information that you will need.  I joined the team because my roommate said that she was going to do it, and I thought that it would be a fun, and exciting way to travel and do something new.  Little did I know that my coach would offer every senior a full ride scholarship, yes, myself included.  So I am currently on a full ride scholarship for a sport that I had never even played, yet alone watched before in my life, and I am actually enjoying it.  It was hard at first to learn and to understand everything at first, however, I think I am catching on pretty well.  Out of 23 players, only 7 knew have previous experience playing lacrosse.  Our first home game (at the Bulldog Stadium, Fresno, Ca.) is Feb. 7th at 1:00pm.  We only have 3 home games.  We also hope to have many supporters there cheering us on.  Please pray for us, our nerves and safe travels.  We will be traveling all over the US from Feb-May.  Anyways, if you have any other questions regarding lacrosse please feel free to ask.

The second biggest change in my life is that I graduated with my BS in Psychology this past December.  I also got accepted to a graduate program here at Fresno State.  I am starting it in 2 weeks.  The program is counseling (k-12) with a PPS credential.  It is a 2-2 1/2 year program depending on how quickly I want to finish it (I'm shooting for 2 years).  The program is very impacted, so pray that I will be able to enroll for all of my classes at the appropriate times and finish on schedule.

Admits all of these new changes, I am still (somewhere in between) working as a server at The Cheesecake Factory here in Fresno.  I used to work almost everyday, however, my bosses are allowing to work whenever I possibly can (which is a HUGE blessing!)

Trying this out

I think that I am going to give this website/program a shot.  My friend is using it and has been for a couple years now, and I figured that I could as well.  Hopefully it will be a good way to communicate with people while I am traveling this upcoming semester throughout the U.S.  Please be patient with me as I learn how to work this website and get into the habit of making blogs on a regular basis.

God bless and have a great day! :)
